No newbie was ever newer!

Not talking about age...of course, just teaching an old dog new tricks.  I want to see what this blogging is all about and to see if I can glean some advise, words of wisdom and just plain old tricks of quilting.  I have for the first time ordered fabric on-line.  Now that was an excruciatingly painful process as I am a 'feeler'.  Spending money on something I can't touch is tough...but I am moving forward, all be it very slowly.  I am open to any hints, advice or whatever you can give me.  I  have been quilting now about 5 years, my biggest projects have been twin size for the grandkids, I do like applique (the machine variety) and rag quilts with a spin.  I have not attempted photo art but it definately is interesting to me.  My next project (get this) is a 127" square quilt for my bed.  I want it to be to the floor on three sides and over the pillows at the top...like a bed spread.  My only concern is flannel or cotton for the back.  I don't want it to be hot but I do want it to be warm.  Anyway, long way from that so I will go with the majority on that one. I have to make something for a niece getting married in July as well so the search begins. Anyway, love you to follow along and keep me on the straight and narrow.
